Celia Williams was born and educated in England. From 1978 she lived in Brazil before moving to Portugal in 1981. She has dual British and Portuguese nationalities.

She has acted in English and Portuguese and has performed all over mainland Portugal, as well as in Madeira and the Azores. Film location work has also taken her to interesting places, including (and especially) India.

On many occasions she has worked in the UK, including London’s West End as well as several other theatres in London, on tour to various cities and at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Aside from acting, she directs plays, does voice-over work and enjoys playing with her grandchildren and working in her garden. In the past she has worked in radio journalism, translation, teaching English as a foreign language and running a business selling English children’s books.

She is married to the composer Christopher Bochmann and has two daughters, four grandchildren and other assorted animals.
